Who you are contracting with
Jälki (“Jälki”, “we”, “us”) is operated by Shabnam Islam, a sole trader. When you use Jälki or buy a Studio or Atlas plan, you are entering an agreement with Shabnam Islam.
Acceptance
By creating a profile, or by continuing to use Jälki, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, stop using the app. You confirm you are of legal age in your country to enter this agreement, and if you accept on behalf of an organisation, that you have authority to bind it.
What Jälki is
Jälki is a self-reflection tool. You pin moments of feeling, name them, write about them, and look at your own patterns over time. Jälki is not therapy, medical care, diagnosis, or crisis support, and nothing in it is professional psychological advice. If you are in distress, contact a qualified professional or your local emergency service.
Your account
Keep your login details confidential. You are responsible for everything done under your profile. Give us accurate information and keep it current.
Your licence
We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use Jälki within the plan you have selected, for your own personal reflection. You may not reverse engineer the app, resell or redistribute it, or circumvent technical limits or tier gating.
Acceptable use
You must not misuse Jälki. That includes: using it unlawfully; fraud, spam, or abuse of trials and payment flows; infringing anyone's intellectual property; and interfering with security — uploading malware, probing or scanning our systems, scraping, or attempting unauthorised access.
Your content
Your pins, notes, reflections, diary entries and insights are yours. You grant us a limited licence to host, store, transmit and process that content solely to provide the app to you — syncing between your devices, generating your patterns, and backing it up.
Pattern detection and Atlas insights
Atlas surfaces possible patterns from your own entries. These are suggestions drawn from limited data, not conclusions or clinical findings, and they can be wrong. That is why every insight can be marked “fits”, “maybe”, or “doesn't fit”. Judgement stays with you; do not rely on Atlas output for any decision that needs professional oversight.
Intellectual property
We retain ownership of Jälki and everything in it apart from your content — the software, design, illustrations, emotion vocabulary, library content, documentation and branding.
Service level
We work to keep Jälki available and dependable, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free performance. Features may change, and maintenance or third-party outages may interrupt access.
Payments and subscriptions
Trace is free forever. Studio and Atlas are paid plans, weekly or yearly, each starting with a 7-day free trial. Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each period until cancelled, and you can cancel at any time.
Our order process is conducted by our online reseller Paddle.com. Paddle.com is the Merchant of Record for all our orders. Paddle provides all customer service inquiries and handles returns. Payment, billing, tax, cancellation and refund mechanics are governed by Paddle's Buyer Terms. See our Refund Policy as well.
Warranties
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all implied warranties, including merchantability and fitness for a particular purpose. Jälki is provided “as is”.
Liability
To the extent permitted by law, our aggregate liability is capped at the fees you paid in the 12 months before the claim. We are not liable for indirect, consequential or special damages, including lost profits, lost data or lost goodwill. Nothing here excludes liability for fraud, death or personal injury, or any liability that cannot lawfully be excluded — including rights you have under the Australian Consumer Law.
Indemnity
You indemnify us against claims arising from your content, your unlawful use of Jälki, or your breach of these terms.
Suspension and termination
We may suspend or terminate your access for material breach of these terms, non-payment, security or fraud risk, or repeated or serious policy violations. You may stop using Jälki and delete your profile at any time. When access ends you have 30 days to export your entries, after which they may be deleted.
Changes
We may update these terms. Material changes will be notified in the app or by email, and continued use after that counts as acceptance.
Assignment, force majeure, and law
You may not assign this agreement without our consent; we may assign it in a merger, acquisition or sale of the business. Neither party is liable for delays caused by events beyond reasonable control. These terms are governed by the laws of Western Australia, Australia, and its courts have exclusive jurisdiction.
